This page has some of my past projects.  There are no instructions because I intended to share what I was making but not the procedure when I was making them.  They're a little random.

Birthday "Card" for hubby

Hubby likes dragons. The sides slap down because I made the bricks out of embossing paste mixed with a little granite grey for colour.  I made the windows in my little kiln and didn't want him to miss them.  Hit the little square in the bottom right to see it full screen.  Esc to get back out.

Birthday card for hubby's niece.

I'll do a video or tutorial with the pop up box.  It's one of my favourites.

Christmas Advent Calendars 2019

The grandkids' are filled with candy and treats.  The adults' are full of tins of tea, Scentsy and treats.  I put a tear strip on top and on Christmas Day, they ripped off the strip to reveal a gift card.

Mixed Media Projects

I've done a few projects on canvas.  Sometimes I think that this is my favourite way to create.  Sometimes, I think "my carpets are too white for this."

Cards

I wish I'd taken a video of this one.  It was a shutter card.  The leaves spread apart when you opened the card like a scene in a cartoon jungle.

This is a technique I love.  I'm sure I'll cover this in future videos.  The highlighting on the embossed weave pattern works out so real looking. The flowers were heat embossed with white powder and then watercoloured.  I wish I'd coloured them a little brighter.

I heat embossed the tulips - fairly solid - not just the outline.  Then I watercoloured so that the colour would be captured in the texture of the tulip.

My daughter owns a grooming/doggy day care business in BC.  Lots of dogs and a few cats.  I'm guessing she had creepy crawly things, too, but was considerate enough to hide them when I visited.

That's Freddy Kreuger jumpin' out to scare you on top.  If you're a Nightmare fan, you already recognized the front of the card as his sweater.

I used Blends to colour the stamps from Good Morning Magnolia.  I love these stamps and using Blends is my favourite way to colour.

That's a little monkey that swings out when you pull the leaf on the side.

Exploding Boxes

My oldest granddaughter is a very talented pianist.  I made this card using fairy lights and a music box mechanism that I bought online.  The pictures of the audience are taken from the stage at the Chicago Theater where I used to take her mom as a kid.  The piano is a 50 year old toy that I bought from a collector in Germany.  The curtains are made with fabric from old curtains from a theatre in BC.

Another granddaughter likes penguins and red.  These are tiny glass penguins.  The water is some blue shading covered with a thick goop of clear glue.

A book that I made for my daughter for Christmas 2018

I'll probably do an instructional video of ones of these.  They're very time-consuming but so very satisfying.

When you slide the shield, it reveals a message.

Exploding Box

A granddaughter's birthday "card"

This granddaughter likes purses.  Inside the purse was a book.  There were quite a few interactive components.  The tassel on the purse was the perfect touch.

A birthday card for my son

A box-shaped card that I made for my son's birthday.  It lights up.  I used a string of lights and hid the battery pack so that the switch was on the side.  I used several layers of thick, multi-coloured textured embossing powder for the outside and some metallic elements on the inside.

Exploding box for my grandson's birthday

Exploding box that I made for a coworker for her daughter's birthday

You can see that I used the basket weave technique again.

Which gave me the idea for these Easter exploding boxes for the kids and grandkids

During Covid, I put together a few boxes of greeting cards for some neighbourhood retirement homes.

I made some kits and had the neighbourhood kids help me out.

I made these cards for my sorority, Beta Sigma Phi

Excuse the 'jammies.  This is how I usually craft.  At least I'm wearing pants, right?  That's hubby ta-da'ing at the end.

Birthday Box

A light up birthday box for my granddaughter.  The front is that fun sequin fabric that changes colour.  I 3D printed the Bella and stuffed it with fairy lights.
